Celebration of Slytherin

LOLO was entrusted with designing the operational wardrobe for the Celebration of Slytherin exhibit at The Making of Harry Potter Tour in London. This project required creating costumes that would embody the dark, sophisticated, and prestigious nature of Slytherin House while ensuring practicality and comfort for the staff. The challenge was to develop uniforms that reflected the rich heritage and distinctive style of Slytherin, maintaining authenticity to the Harry Potter universe.

The design process began with an in-depth exploration of Slytherin House as depicted in the Harry Potter films. LOLO aimed to create costumes that would capture the elegance and mysterious aura of Slytherin, incorporating elements such as luxurious fabrics, intricate detailing, and house-specific accessories. The uniforms needed to evoke the feeling of aristocracy and cunning, characteristic of the Malfoy family and other notable Slytherins. Our team designed robes, tailored suits, and accessories that captured the essence of Slytherin, ensuring they were both visually stunning and functional.

Material selection was a critical aspect of this project. The uniforms had to be crafted from fabrics that were both opulent and durable, suitable for the sophisticated and occasionally dark setting of Slytherin-themed exhibits. LOLO chose materials that provided a rich aesthetic and practical wearability, ensuring the costumes could withstand frequent use and maintain their luxurious appearance over time.

Attention to detail was paramount in the creation of these costumes. Each uniform was meticulously crafted to include elements that would enhance the immersive experience for guests, such as embroidered Slytherin crests, silver and green trims, and period-specific accessories. LOLO collaborated closely with Warner Bros. Studio Tour’s art directors and operational teams to ensure the designs were both visually captivating and practically functional. Regular fittings and feedback sessions were conducted to refine the costumes, ensuring they met the high standards of the Celebration of Slytherin exhibit.
